Design

Sun-Star calls this format daikatto fusen surimu - die-cut slim sticky notes. Instead of a rectangle block, each pad is cut into a row of character silhouettes, and every silhouette is its own small stack of sticky sheets. You peel one shape at a time, so the marker is the character rather than a plain coloured flag.

What you get

  • One slim pad, banded to a printed cover board that keeps the stacks flat.
  • Several die-cut stacks per pad - the character shapes sit side by side and tear off one at a time.
  • Character artwork from Sanrio, Moomin and Super Mario, printed on the same Sun-Star body.

Which cover

  • Hello Kitty (blue) - Kitty in a red bow on a blue card; the shapes are Kitty heads and small friends.
  • Pompompurin (yellow) - pudding-yellow card with Pompompurin and his mouse and frog friends.
  • Moomin (pink) - a pink card with the Moomin family and Snufkin in soft green and lilac.
  • Moomin (grey) - the same cast on a cool grey card.
  • Super Mario (pink) - mushroom, star and coin shapes on a pale pink card.
  • Super Mario (blue) - the same set of shapes on a blue-grey card.

Where they work

The pad is slim, so it sits along the top edge of a page and the tabs stay visible when the book is shut. That makes them page markers first: mark a recipe, a revision page, a chapter you owe someone. In a planner they work as month tabs or as a quick flag for the page you are on.

For tapes, larger stickers and paper to stick them on, see the journaling collection. The rest of the line is in Sun-Star and kawaii stationery.

Care

The adhesive is a low-tack strip, so a shape lifts cleanly and can be moved once or twice before it stops gripping. Keep the pad closed and away from heat; dust on the adhesive is what kills a sticky note first.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are die-cut slim sticky notes?
A: A sticky-note pad cut into character shapes instead of plain rectangles. Each shape is a small stack, so you peel off a Kitty head or a mushroom rather than a square flag. Sun-Star calls the format daikatto fusen surimu.

Q: Do the shapes come off cleanly and stick again?
A: Yes, on paper. The strip is low-tack, so a shape lifts without tearing a page and can be re-positioned once or twice; after that the adhesive picks up dust and the grip drops.

Q: Will the pad fit a planner or a paperback?
A: Yes. The pad is slim and flexible, so it lines up with the top edge of a page and the tabs stand proud of the page block. That is the point of the format - the marker stays visible with the book closed.

Q: Do I need a separate sticky-note holder?
A: No. The printed cover board is the holder: it wraps the stacks and keeps them flat in a bag. A separate holder only helps if you want to stand the pad on a desk.

Q: Which characters are available?
A: Six covers: Hello Kitty in blue, Pompompurin in yellow, Moomin in pink and in grey, and Super Mario in pink and in blue. The shapes change with the character; the pad format is the same.
