MIDORI Professional Diary 2027 A5 Slim Planner - Monthly Block or Vertical Weekly / MIDORI
The MIDORI Professional Diary PRD is a slim A5 planner made for people who plan on paper at work: a monthly block for the overview and either memo pages or a vertical weekly for the detail, in a cloth-covered book that slides into a bag.
Two layouts
- Monthly block: fourteen months from December 2026, monthly blocks on the left and memo plus to-do pages facing them, with project sheets and to-do sheets at the back
- Monthly plus vertical weekly: the same monthly block, then a weekly spread with a time axis down the day columns
Size and build
- A5 Slim, 216 x 125 x 9 mm, about the footprint of a slim paperback
- Cloth cover with a small foil-printed motif, rounded corners
- Ivory paper, thread-bound so the book opens flat
- Cover motifs: plain black, a star pattern, a floral pattern and a diamond pattern
- Made in Japan
Why the slim format
A5 Slim keeps the width of an A5 page for the monthly block while cutting the height, so the book fits a jacket pocket or the front pocket of a work bag. The monthly block leaves a writing strip per day for a short task list, and the vertical weekly is where meetings go: an hour scale runs down each day, so you block out time rather than write a paragraph about it.
Good to know
Both layouts start in December 2026 and run fourteen months, so they cover the change of year. Pages are printed in Japanese, including month names and the instructions at the front; the grids themselves are numeric. Paper is light stock, so very wet fountain pen ink may show through.
Other MIDORI planners for 2027
The MIDORI Pocket Diary 2027 is the smaller format of the same idea, and the MIDORI Book Style Diary 2027 puts a weekly layout in a cloth-bound book. If you like to plan a year and keep it, the daily and weekly planner collection and the journaling department hold the rest, and everything from the brand sits in MIDORI stationery.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the difference between the two PRD layouts?
A: The monthly block version gives a one-page monthly overview with memo and to-do pages beside it. The monthly plus weekly version adds a vertical weekly spread with an hour scale for scheduling, then the same monthly blocks.
Q: How many months does it cover?
A: Fourteen months, starting December 2026, so the book crosses into the new year without a gap.
Q: What is A5 Slim?
A: A5 Slim is 216 x 125 mm, the width of A5 with a shorter cover, which makes the planner fit in a jacket pocket or a slim bag pocket.
Q: Will it fit a standard A5 cover?
A: No. A5 Slim is narrower than A5, so covers sized for A5 will be loose. The cloth cover is part of the book.
Q: Is the layout usable without reading Japanese?
A: The grids are numeric and the weekday columns are marked, so the structure is readable without the Japanese headings. The instruction pages at the front are in Japanese.
Q: Does the weekly version have monthly pages too?
A: Yes. The monthly block comes first in both versions; the weekly version simply adds the vertical weekly spreads after it.
